Ecuador- my pictorial history VIII: Otavalo

Otavalo features beautiful landscapes and one very awesome condor park, Parque Condor.  Ironically, it is full of eagles, hawks, and owls, but only three condors.

she's screamin' about something

one of the most regal birds I've ever seen

these owls bobbed their heads constantly

sleepy owl

the handler (there was a flight show)

I'm pretty sure I'd get out of his way

one of the smallest falcons, a kestrel

Andean condor

this bald eagle looks like he's going to kick some ass directly

The Otavalo Market, in the Plaza de Ponchos, is famous country-wide.  They have some of the finest hand-made textiles in the world.

The Cuicocha Crater Lake lies at the base of the inactive volcano Cotacachi; there are hikes around this lake and beyond.
